It's quite a busy day around here with all the packing we have going on but I still squeezed in time for the Shred. A couple of thoughts raced through my mind to skip today or to do it later tonight. But I didn't because of the commitment I've made to myself and to those of you who read this blog. I will finish these 30 days because I don't want to be a quit. Along the way I hope to 1) start enjoying or desiring the workouts 2) see the benefits physically and hope that will motivate me a little more as well and 3) hope the workouts just become a normal part of my day like brushing teeth or planning dinner or checking facebook.
Dan joined me in doing the Shred today. He was sweating just as much as I was. He agreed that it was pretty intense. It was nice doing the DVD with another adult. Since we don't have a mirror in the room, sometimes it's hard to tell if your form is right or wrong. Dan helped me with that and vice versa. Jacob also did the DVD with us. He talked a lot less today and completed the whole thing w/o weights. He was pretty proud about finishing.
We're heading to church tonight and planning to grab dinner somewhere as well. I don't want to blow my workout with one trip to a restaurant. Any suggestions? I guess where ever we go I can make healthy choices and consume smaller portions. Just wondering what your favorite places are? I'm a little tired of Chipoltle and Subway uses HFCS in their breads which we in the Robinson household tried to avoid most of the time.
Weight: 138 (a little higher than yesterday. maybe I should only be weighing in once a week?)
Feelings: Yesterday I wrote that my shins were very sore....I used the wrong word! It's my calves that are so sore. I keep stretching out my calves by pointing my toes upwards and that helps some. Hopefully, that will fade with time. Other than that, I'm feeling committed to my goal of doing the Shred for 30 days and hoping my fondness will grow over time!?!?!?
What's HFCS?
ReplyDeleteto stretch your calves put your foot (toes) up against a wall facing the wall with your heal still on the floor and lean forward! great stretch before and after plus gives you long lean calves not budgie ones. (tip from years of cheering!)
